Usha fakeplastic Vance doesn't need your defense. She's married to one of the most powerful people in the world, and she knows exactly what the assignment is. Her spouse and children are dressed appropriately for this event, which is not just "a parade" but a public-facing duty. She's underdressed.

And while they're not "royals", they're public servants who need to dress the part. She's not just some humble bumbling mom. She's the second lady. A skirt, a nicer blouse, etc. would've been appropriate. Yet, once again, she's wearing questionably-tailored off-beat clothes that don't match her status and position, nor do they match the tone of the event, which is obvious when you look at everyone else on stage.

It's likely intentional so she seems "relatable", but she seems incompetent and fake af. [b]Melania may be an ice queen, but at least she knows how to dress for her job. [/b][/quote]
IDK about this. Melania has made some pretty questionable choices over the years. But she is FLOTUS, so she gets to set the tone in terms of dressiness level etc. And overall she dresses better than Usha, no doubt.[/quote]
Melania's problem is she loves theme dressing. Kate Middleton does this too, although she's more subtle. For example, Kate had Prince Louis on St. George's Day, so she wore red and white to do the photo opp on the hospital steps.

Melania is way less subtle. She goes to Africa so she wears a pith helmet. She goes to a military parade so she wears a double breasted military-style jacket. And so-on.

But other than these little missteps....other than the "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" jacket, I don't recall anything glaring. I recall some major misses from Ivanka, but not Melania.
