Exactly. Honestly if I saw a mom wearing that at the 4th of July parade in my parents' beach town, I'd be like, okay best dressed! It was a lovely outfit for A patriotic parade. It was not the right outfit for THIS patriotic parade.

I stand by my earlier statement that it's like no one is bothering to tell her, or maybe they do and she just thinks she's too good to follow the rules. Maybe she just doesn't notice or care? To be honest, it's incredibly weird she and JD presumably left the house at the same time, she saw him in his suit and tie, and didn't realize it was more formal than she was anticipating. If my husband and I were going to an event, and I came downstairs wearing her outfit but saw my husband in a suit and tie, I'd be like...oh, shit, do I need to go change?

The problem is that no one else, including Melania, is dressed parade-appropriate. I like her outfit, but it still looks wrong because it doesn't match how anyone else is dressed. I almost wonder if someone in the WH social office is doing this to her on purpose.

I don't know who picks her clothes, and it's irrelevant to this point. It would help Usha to know what Melania is planning to wear.

Usha fakeplastic Vance doesn't need your defense. She's married to one of the most powerful people in the world, and she knows exactly what the assignment is. And while they're not "royals", they're public servants who need to dress the part. She's not just some humble bumbling mom. She's the second lady. A skirt, a nicer blouse, etc. would've been appropriate. Yet, once again, she's wearing questionably-tailored off-beat clothes that don't match her status and position, nor do they match the tone of the event, which is obvious when you look at everyone else on stage.

It's likely intentional so she seems "relatable", but she seems incompetent and fake af. Melania may be an ice queen, but at least she knows how to dress for her job.

IDK about this. Melania has made some pretty questionable choices over the years. But she is FLOTUS, so she gets to set the tone in terms of dressiness level etc. And overall she dresses better than Usha, no doubt.
