Yesterday, the Trump administration bombed 4 more boats, killing 14 people, and bringing the overall death toll to 57. To date, no proof IN THE FORM OF CLASSIFIED INTELLIGENCE, WHICH CANNOT BE RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC AND HAS NEVER HISTORICALLY BEEN RELEASED, has been offered regarding the culpability of the people killed. Military Destroys Four More Boats “The Trump administration launched another round of deadly strikes on vessel it accused of smuggling drugs, killing 14 people in four boats on Monday in its growing military campaign off the Central and South American coasts,” the New York Times reports. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth “said that the strikes — three of them — took place in international waters and that there had been one survivor. They bring the overall death toll to 57 in the campaign, which began in September.”
Fixed it for you.
But declassified summaries or non-classified evidence (e.g., post-strike videos) have been released in past cases, such as the 2020 killing of Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani (declassified slides shared) or 2011 Osama bin Laden raid (select details declassified). In the case of narcotics, the DEA has most certainly displayed or referenced seized drugs as non-classified evidence. And if it's no biggie, then why have Senators Paul and Lankford said/done the following? *Rand Paul -- called the strikes "extrajudicial killings" and emphasized no evidence of crimes or identities: "I am disturbed by the actions with blowing up boats, with people whom we don’t know their name, we’ve been presented with no evidence of a crime." Plans to sponsor a war powers resolution to halt the strikes without congressional approval. *James Lankford--demanded more transparency from the administration: "The admin. needs to give Congress insight on this. If this was happening under Biden with this level of insight I’d be apoplectic."
