Why would anyone want to work for our government now?
Think about how fast (slow af) and intelligent (idiotic) your local DMV workers are. That's about to be the level of employees in all federal branches.
Um, they don't want people to want to work for the government...that's the plan. They are destroying the government.
Sorry. Cutting back a bloated behemoth of a government, that you believe should do womb to tomb everything under the sun for everyone, to a reasonable government, and not a friggen Soviet Politburo, is not destroying the government.
You do realize that the US has lower levels of public services than any other industrialized nation? The reason our debt is so high is (a) ridiculous levels of military spending and (b) never ending tax cuts from Republicans that explode the deficit.
Do you realize 17 cents of every dollar of GDP is spent on health care?
Not 17 cents of every tax dollar. 17 cents of every dollar.
Enough, FFS.
So what should be prioritized over health care?
What ever the EARNER wants to spend it on, not what some congressional staffer or an out-of-touch bureaucrat in a building in DC wants to spend it on.
the "out of touch bureaucrat" is simply carrying out the laws passed by the Congress. You make it sound like there are hordes of renegades with slide rules taking over the country.
And the EARNER was able to earn the money they earned because people before them paid taxes to invest in roads, communications infrastructure and other pathways to the earaner being able to earn. Perhaps you would prefer going back to the days of Pa Ingalls and everyone out for themselves?

I am still awaiting the proof of waste, fraud and abuse. Shouldn't there be a bunch of people indicted for the fraud?
It's in the works...........
Arizona has brought numerous charges and indictments in Medicaid fraud cases, targeting individuals and businesses involved in schemes that defrauded the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). These schemes often involved fraudulent billing, unlicensed sober living homes, and exploitation of vulnerable populations, including Native Americans. The state has recovered a small fraction of the funds lost, with over 100 individuals and several companies indicted, according to ProPublica and AP News.
Key points about Arizona's Medicaid fraud indictments:
Sober Living Home Fraud:
A major focus of the indictments has been on fraudulent sober living homes, many of which targeted tribal communities.
Fraudulent Billing:
Numerous cases involve fraudulent billing practices, where individuals or businesses billed AHCCCS for services not provided or for inflated costs.
Exploitation of Vulnerable Populations:
Many schemes targeted vulnerable populations, including Native Americans, who were exploited by bad actors seeking to profit from their need for treatment.
Government Investigations:
Joint investigations by the Arizona Attorney General's office, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and other agencies have been crucial in uncovering these fraud schemes.
Criminal Charges:
Indictments have been filed with criminal charges, including conspiracy, theft, fraudulent schemes, and money laundering.
Penalties:
Those found guilty have faced fines, probation, and restitution orders.
Examples of specific cases:
L & L Investments:
This company was found guilty of multiple felony charges, including conspiracy and theft, for defrauding AHCCCS under the guise of behavioral health services according to the Arizona Attorney General's Office.
Individual Indictments:
The Department of Justice has also filed charges against individuals for their involvement in Medicaid fraud schemes, according to the Department of Justice (.gov).

"washington DC running by edict" - I think your complaint is with the various house and senate members over the decades who created these agencies because there were issues the public wanted addressed that the free market is not capable of addressing.

Then look at the issue. It isn't the doctors getting rich. It is the middle men and insurance companies who are scamming everyone else. But the GOP plays into their hands and refuses to reform the healthcare and insurance industries. Heck, one of the biggest scammers, Rick Scott, is a GOP senator. You are barking up the wrong tree.
Well you wanted Obamacare. You wanted Medicare and Medicaid. Here we have it now. We're living YOUR dream.
And you're complaining about middle men? You mean the intended and unintended consequences of stupid sh** like "risk corridors"?
Health care is starving everything in spending.
