Amend the law to increase penalties for crimes (for example, car jacking, 30 year minimum term), remove bail option for criminals (ie once caught they can't get out until their trial), increase salaries for police (to attract more people to join the force), change policies to allow the police to use more force, etc. Hopefully some of the above could help alleviate the problem.
You realize this is the complete opposite of the 2020 protests and DC liberal ideology? How do we get politicians who can see the forest for the trees? Are peoples minds actually changing from 4 years ago, as in residents? I always thought changing the whole way we police based on some true, well publicized abuses was dumb - but the next well publicized abuses everyone will go into fits and hysterics. We have a police officer in prison for chasing someone on a scooter who drove himself into the way of traffic. What happened to stop for the police or it's on you? Anyway, I just don't see how we have the support in DC from the liberal voter base to go in a more reasonable direction that would mitigate crime . Right now, it's purge every day .
