You realize this is the complete opposite of the 2020 protests and DC liberal ideology? How do we get politicians who can see the forest for the trees? Are peoples minds actually changing from 4 years ago, as in residents? I always thought changing the whole way we police based on some true, well publicized abuses was dumb - but the next well publicized abuses everyone will go into fits and hysterics. We have a police officer in prison for chasing someone on a scooter who drove himself into the way of traffic. What happened to stop for the police or it's on you? Anyway, I just don't see how we have the support in DC from the liberal voter base to go in a more reasonable direction that would mitigate crime . Right now, it's purge every day .

Truth.

Reports are both carjacking victims were murdered. One at 5:30 by the convention center and one in NoMa.

Nowhere is safe and the violence is significantly worse and more random than the 90s.

Local media is finally stepping up and doing some good work re: crime in DMV

There are relatively small numbers of people, juveniles and adults driving the majority of crime. Take them off the street, as Baltimore is doing, and crime drops.

The DSA narrative that we have to solve every problem of mankind FIRST is just BS.

This carjacking on Wisconsin is frightening, wasn't even dark out.

Rising crime and tipped wage initiative = departure of restaurants. Who would have thought? It was fun to be a foodie town for a minute.

I think the posters point was that groups like justice lab and the Democratic socialists lobby for the opposite of all this, to the detriment of law abiding residents.

Why hassle with loser kids and potentially lose their life when they can make 80k at a private security job?

Yeah until they themselves get pistolwhipped and carjacked by a bunch of teenage punks. Because it will happen. Or, the place they were hired to protect gets robbed anyhow in spite of private security.

I mean, even the carjackers are starting to get carjacked. https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/dc/carjacking-suspect-shot-injured-northeast-dc/65-fdbd8786-f863-4247-8c5d-d591074bbf60

But who needs cops, right? Private security can handle it. NOT.

As many as it takes. DC authorities view this level of mayhem as better than “mass incarceration.” Get that through your head—they simply do not care.

Our government has been captured by a combination of far left ideologues and Marion Berry-esque idiots who are only there for the paychecks.

Democratic Socialists of America (DCA) and the DC Justice Lab (a member of the Alliance for Justice) have heavily influenced the current DC Council.

These two organizations are the roots of the problem:

Until you elect council members who are openly opposed to both these organizations and their policies, nothing will change on the streets.
