Where do you think the unhoused go at night? It’s not like they disappear when we close our eyes. They have to be somewhere. Everyone knows the tenderloin is the worst part of town. He picked the part of town that everyone knows as the place where unhoused people sleep and where drug dealers and sex workers do their thing, and strolls through at 2am. Of course it’s bad. As more stores close it’s going to get worse, but the whole city isn’t like that all the time. I was about a block away from that video location 3 days ago buying art supplies for my kids. It’s not as nice as it used to be but it’s not like that during the daytime. SF has a lot of homeless people. That’s just how it is. Everyone knows not to go to the tenderloin after dark. [/quote]

DP.  Sorry, but homeless or not, no one should be allowed to camp out on sidewalks, defecate in public, and block entrances to homes and buildings.  No one.  They need to be made to go to homeless facilities, period.  Who cares if they "want" to live on the street?  What about all the other residents who DON'T want to step human feces as they go about their day?  JFC.[/quote]

If they are camping out on sidewalks, defecating in the streets, using drugs in public, and generally being a public nuisance, they are breaking laws.  Yes, they are criminals.  Time to treat them as such.  Get them help, or lock them up.  
It is truly not something that law-abiding tax-paying citizens should tolerate.  [/quote]
