Even though it would have been difficult ethically, part of me would have rather seen her choose to delete the video of the incident... simply because it would have been unexpected. Instead we see yet another example of Mare being a stickler and unwilling to deal with her own shit. Although I suppose you could argue that it is a weird inversion of the time she deleted the video of the graffiti guy.

Climbing the ladder was her confronting her grief over Kevin’s death, which is what she was avoiding. She showed up at the school alone. All the cops were at his house, and yes there were a lot of them!
