Whose going to read the end of this long thread? But I hosted a beach house all summer for years. The food (and drink) is a real issue. People have to work together or stay out of other peoples food. Some people are celebrating at the beach and bring expensive food: cheeses, specialty crackers, charcuterie, croissants, fruits salads, shrimp, lobster, steak and other higher end foods. Other people economize on food (maybe spending on other things) and get the cheapest possible cheese in a packet, cheap deli meat, hot dogs, hamburgers, pb&j, sugary corn flakes, cheap granola and so on. Also the supplies at the stores at that time were weird off brands that tasted bad. So the family of 4 with 2 little kids is having much less and different than the family with famished teenagers. And the budget/ amounts are much different. Casually saying that all kids should eat all food and that one mom making breakfast should “just share and make more...” is really just rude. And user. Fortunately we all respected each other’s boundaries and the kids did also. Pushing the burden of feeding everyone on the first mom who gets up with little kids is just. It’s beyond rude. OP I don’t know how you can teach manners really.
