Shut up. Not a Bullis parent, but your post is crap. Do you know how many kids are brought it to Landon? They poached the goalie from the Heights, STA's best player, a junior transfer from Oregon, etc. Nearly every MS kid at Landon is recruited over. The coach at SSSA is recruiting like crazy. Putting this just on Bullis is piling on.
“STA’s best player” that Landon supposedly recruited was a second line midfielder his freshman year prior to transferring, not only that, he was not recruited, he chose to transfer to Landon to play lacrosse as well as soccer where he was a three time All-IAC selection in the latter.
I know who the kid is and he was the high scorer as a freshman at STA for much of the year without playing on the man-up offense. He put four goals in the net against a very strong Bullis team his freshman year, when STA played them tight with a stall ball strategy and the rest of his teammates put in 2 or 3. Not worth debating who was the "best" player on that team, and some very good players were on the bench, like the recent grad who did well for Yale this season as a freshman goalkeeper. He was behind Dartmouth and Lehigh recruits at goal. The kid was by far the strongest they had in his class and was not a second line player in any game. True that his soccer was outstanding as well. I thought he ended his IAC play as a four time all IAC in soccer and a three time all IAC in lacrosse. STA was either winning the IAC or runner up back in those years in soccer. Basement in lacrosse. The last-place team might get two all IAC selections and they usually go to seniors who have stuck with the coach... In any event, STA's FOGO will keep them competitive this coming season, and their new coach has helped out the program quite a bit. I do not think they can get into a spot above fourth place with any regularity going forward for the foreseeable future though.
The player you so confidently state was St. Alban's best player was a second line midfielder his freshman year. He may have had the most potential on the team but he was not the best player.
The poster did not say he was the best player. That is a silly argument to be drawn into when there are so many rolls on a team. I was a parent of a kid on the team that year. He was a first line middie, and they often isolated him to dodge and score. STA played a slow-down game because they (smartly) realized that they could not run with the rest of the IAC. That was the year STA's field was under construction and the lacrosse team practiced on the field in front of the runway at National Airport. Trust me, I watched the entire season, every game. The kid was first line, the best midfielder. Go ahead and debate who was the best player on the team--not worth key strokes. Landon did not recruit him, in any event. He decided to leave the school, while his older brother was still there. The older brother was the Gatorade soccer player of the year as a senior, too. Those are all facts. Look them up...
