It's a Bullis lacrosse thread but AB absolutely played PG. He brought it up almost every time and was given the green light to shoot every time and he did almost every time. The team stunk and the school should never have given him a full ride just because he rode the bench at DM. And the Landon football team is now a joke. I don't think they'd have 25 kids try out if not for the 10-15 recruit/transfers brought in. They'd be better off having 2 soccer teams in the fall than 1 football team full of recruits. Same goes for Bullis and soon the other IAC's will have that same problem. Prep didn't have enough tryouts to field a JV and varsity and now needs kids playing for both teams to have a full roster. If someone was aggressive enough, they could end football entirely and not miss a beat.
Football is having problems fielding teams everywhere. Not sure why your so worked up about it for the IAC.

He put four goals in the net against a very strong Bullis team his freshman year, when STA played them tight with a stall ball strategy and the rest of his teammates put in 2 or 3. Not worth debating who was the "best" player on that team, and some very good players were on the bench, like the recent grad who did well for Yale this season as a freshman goalkeeper. He was behind Dartmouth and Lehigh recruits at goal. The kid was by far the strongest they had in his class and was not a second line player in any game. True that his soccer was outstanding as well. I thought he ended his IAC play as a four time all IAC in soccer and a three time all IAC in lacrosse. STA was either winning the IAC or runner up back in those years in soccer. Basement in lacrosse. The last-place team might get two all IAC selections and they usually go to seniors who have stuck with the coach...Anonymous wrote:“STA’s best player” that Landon supposedly recruited was a second line midfielder his freshman year prior to transferring, not only that, he was not recruited, he chose to transfer to Landon to play lacrosse as well as soccer where he was a three time All-IAC selection in the latter.Anonymous wrote:Shut up. Not a Bullis parent, but your post is crap. Do you know how many kids are brought it to Landon? They poached the goalie from the Heights, STA's best player, a junior transfer from Oregon, etc. Nearly every MS kid at Landon is recruited over. The coach at SSSA is recruiting like crazy. Putting this just on Bullis is piling on.
In any event, STA's FOGO will keep them competitive this coming season, and their new coach has helped out the program quite a bit. I do not think they can get into a spot above fourth place with any regularity going forward for the foreseeable future though.
The player you so confidently state was St. Alban's best player was a second line midfielder his freshman year. He may have had the most potential on the team but he was not the best player.

The also had a goalie the stole from the Heights for a year.
Kids want to win games and play at a higher level even if it's for a year.
Kids or parents? In this particular situation, it was way more parents than kid. We'll see if this practice continues or stops without Bordley.
