I think he means that Dobbs would have allowed Rs to make 15 week bans, but they went too far and it's biting them in the butt. But maybe that's not what he means.

Really this whole conversation would be so different right now if Rs had in fact just put in place a bunch of 15 week bans with exceptions for life of the mother, serious fetal issues, and cases of rape and incest. I think this issue would have largely died down by now.

Dp- not if the language for exceptions is as we’ve seen across red states. There are functionally no exceptions.
This rant is just RWNJ cope. 
The reality is that no one “likes” abortion.
And that a surprising majority of Americans woefully ignorant about
1) reproduction 
2) science
3) the inherent danger of pregnancy 
But as Americans have become educated, they have moved further left on the issue.

Especially given the fact that when abortion was broadly legal across the country, most early second trimester abortions were [i]women who were unable to access abortion[/i] in a more timely manner, and the delays were entirely artificial and [i]caused by forced birther laws intended to delay[/i] some abortions past the point where a woman could get one.

15 weeks is dopey. “But Europe!” they retort. Yeah, “but Europe” actually allows women to get abortions comparatively easily and at no time in a pregnancy is a legitimate need for an abortion denied. Oh, and abortions are fully subsidized, just like the rest of their healthcare, so instead of having to come up with the scratch for the procedure itself (and childcare and a hotel room for the mandatory waiting period - because a woman is evidently too ducking stupid to know what “abortion” means - plus travel costs) it’s just a procedure.

I hope November finds the GOP with a massive mouthful of old fashioned, big old boat of a car, chrome bumper. They chased it for decades as part of their war on women’s lives and liberty. Let them deal with the consequences.[/quote]
