not really.  Why force people to wear masks when the cases are low?   Covid is here to stay in one way, shape or form. Are you suggesting we wear masks forever?[/quote]

No, actually it’s not clear enough, that’s like saying we have to wear masks until the common cold finally goes away. Covid is here to stay and is not going anywhere so there will never not be zero cases what part of that don’t you understand ? do I have to repeat?[/quote]

First, we don't track data on colds, so you don't know that.  Second, flu was down and the thinking is that coronaviruses occupy the same environmental niche as influenza, and coronaviruses spread more easily so took that space.

Clearly, keeping schools and offices closed also mitigated spread, as did immediate paranoia and quarantine when anyone started to feel sick. Given the known weaknesses of masks and the lack of controlled studies that prove your assertion, I would say that you have about enough data to decide to wear a mask yourself, but not make public policy.[/quote]
