Not really. After all that has come out about them in recent years it seems like the issue wasn't so much that she was an American divorcee, but both their Nazi views. Even Prince Philip has Nazi ties. It was and still is much easier to blame the evil American divorced woman for his abdication rather than admit their almost king was a Nazi sympathizer.[/quote]

Yes. The Royals don’t like to talk about it. There are pictures of King Edward VIII meeting with Adolf Hitler and Prince Phillip never saw his four Nazi sympathizer sisters who married German princes after 1947 when he married Princess Elizabeth at the age of 26.
