When a top player indicates that he/she is considering other options or even declines an offer from the current team, it is not unusual for a coach to reach out and try hard to retain the player. When we left my son's former club for FCB last year, we did it on good terms and his former coach tried very hard to persuade us to stay. Our discussions were very cordial and respectful, but we did say "no" several times. [/quote]
