Landon has a bigger and more cohesive staff programmatically. The JV head coach works at Landon full time, for instance. Lots of in house coaches has been a huge edge for them since Bordley Sr. built the program.

As for Kubick, Landon coaches had relationships with him going back to JR Bordley playing against Kubick coached prep teams and coaching against his MD teams. When Healy left and McGettigan became HC, there was an offensive void to fill (Healy and McGettigan both offensive coaches), and they wisely brought Kubick on.
