The SB and Reid have failed the schools.  Having some schools between 75-85% capacity and others at over 105% when there is a new high school and plenty of space at other schools is irresponsible.  Decimating schools like Westfield and South Lakes to ensure the rich constituents are taken care of is just plain wrong and goes against the principles of education.  These schools will lose electives and teachers and continue on a downward spiral.  These redistricting decisions are so blatantly classist and racist.  Vote for a new SB folks.[/quote]

I am not interested in social engineering the public school system into the ground in the name of equity. I think the skyview purchase was rushed and probably not well thought through.

The only social engineering going on is in the opposite manner of what you think.  Neighborhoods right next to Skyview for example are not going there.  Neighborhoods within a couple miles of South Lakes are going to Madison.  And a lot folks who should be going to Westfield are not going.  All rich neighborhoods.  So yeah buddy, there is social engineering going on.  Probably in the way you like though right so you wouldn’t call that social engineering.

Someone organizing these boundaries logically would have the Franklin Farm area going to South Lakes, Chantilly, Skyview, or Westfield.

The proposed Westfield boundaries are a travesty and nonsense. Drawing a circle around one apartment building? Moving only low income areas? [/quote]
