Didn't read the full 25 pages of this thread. Could someone please tell me why ASA is featured prominently in the headline? What does ASA have to do with the alleged crimes of the individual parent involved? By putting ASA in the title, it seems like the OP wanted to smear ASA. As an ASA parent, I can tell you that they are very strict about not allowing parents inside the practice facilities, and most definitely not in the locker/changing rooms. During meets at the same facility, all parents and coaches are required to use a separate bathroom that is monitored.
ASA parent of an older kid that went to the travel meet in Florida. The same meet that Thomas Mahony was at. I’m shocked to read about this. I just got the email from ASA (weeks after ASA probably found out) and stumbled upon this thread. I’m happy that OP put this out there. That’s very insensitive for you to imply that this is a smear tactic by the OP.
Not insensitive at all. The media uses similar tactics to grab eyeballs and clicks. I do like how you are offended for the OP who could easily come back to the thread (or ask Jeff to change the title). Also, there have been numerous threads here with posters taking ridiculous shots at ASA. As an ASA parent, I will defend the club where it is clear that it did nothing wrong. Why aren't you?
You need to wake up to reality. This predator had access to 2 entire communities of swimmers and their parents deserve to know the details of what happened. And all you’re worried about is the possibility of this thread tarnishing the club’s reputation? Shows where your priorities are. People take ridiculous shots at every single prominent swim club in the DC area, ASA isn’t unique in that regard.
