Gotta be a moderate, likeable, smart White male. Think JFK or Bill Clinton. Otherwise get ready to the permanent minority party.
This is where Andy Beshear comes in! perfect candidate. handsome. likable. smart. white. moderate. savvy enough.
It's a good thing Obama ran for office prior to when the racist took back over and proclaimed only "white" candidates are viable. Crawl back under your rock!
Lol. Obama and I are the same race. go judge someone else buddy. It's very clear that America is NOT going to elect a women or person of color for some time. Y'all want white male moderates. so I tossed out one that I thought could actually work well. Reading too much into these post will make you look like an arse!
Oh yeah, the good ole "I'm not racist, I'm just telling you what racists think" spiel. A woman or POC is just as capable as the elderly white men you idiots are addicted to.
then why did two highly capable women lose to a felon? GTFOH with your gaslighting.
Biden lost the 2024. Harris never had a chance thanks to Biden. Clinton would have won in 2008 if she had been nominated while in her prime and then she received more votes than Trump in 2016 even after campaigning with half the vigor of Trump and while up against the pendulum momentum swing to the GOP after 8 years of a Dem POTUS. A woman will be POTUS soon enough as long as potential supporters don't create unnecessary barriers for them by suggesting "they aren't capable of winning" because of their gender. The same misguided people said "America will never elect a POC" right up until the day an elite politician who was also a POC became on of the most popular Dem nominees in modern history. That POTUS was elected twice by winning many of the same swing states Trump and Biden won and while running against two well qualified and formidable "white men" opponents who were much stronger POTUS candidates than Trump and Biden. That two term successful POTUS didn't win because he was a man or a Christian or a POC or for any other irrelevant characteristic. He won because he was a great communicator who was likable and exhibited elite leadership qualities. Be on the look out for the likable communicators with elite leadership skills and stop limiting that scope by suggesting what's between a candidate legs can be a disqualifying factor.
I can agree with most of this to an extent. Obama is a great communicator and exhibits elite leadership qualities. I also know that race played a role in him winning. The way he brought out POC who never ever cared about politics. some of the same ones that stayed home in 2016. Also, he won because he didn't make white Americans feel bad for horrible history of the country or folks racist mindsets. He was very clever not to address race issues head on during his campaign. That made people "feel good." This is key. Unfortunately, the country went backwards and poc are not going to shut up and be quiet when folks are showing their arse. speaking up makes you all uncomfortable. but we are supposed to be uncomfortable while you talk and act reckless towards us. Not in 2025 and beyond buddy.
Who is talking or acting reckless towards you on this political message board? We are attempting to have productive political discussion. I disagreed with a previous poster who is of the mindset that women aren't capable of being elected POTUS and therefore only men should be considered for major party nominations in 2028. I stand firmly against that belief as I am certain a limited scope in a search for a next major party nominee is the definition of a losing strategy; especially for a party that suffered great political fallout due to the failures of a recently elected token elderly white male. I do sometimes unnecessarily use demeaning terms like idiot, dimwit, moron.. when responding to posts that get me riled up. I do sincerely apologize if I directed such unnecessary language at you or anyone else who may be reading this. We are all on the same team seeking a better way forward!
