No, DEI is just a part of Trump's assault, unfortunately.

When NIH, NSF, etc. start reviewing grants again, UMichigan leads the country in obtaining "soft science" grants.  Those are the ones the administration is going to cut the most, in favor of hard science grants.   UMichigan is reliant those grants which will never materialize. [b] Their graduate programs, even in Economics, are in red alert status right now.[/b]  We are talking massive amount of layoffs and cuts.

If you email the Econ department chair, you'll be told about the cuts.  This isn't secret.  They are retrenching RIGHT NOW and are planning for further massive retrenchments.  Undergrad will be less affected that grad.   [/quote]
