Yes, my ancestors (Quakers & Union soldiers) have tried to lift up others for centuries. And I’m not going anywhere.

That's correct.  But that's how reparations work.  Nobody cares that her ancestors helped slaves.  They only care that she white, therefore she must pay black people.  Even if she is a poor white person with some black ancestors, she must pay wealthy black people with some white ancestry.

Lifting people up in a meaningful way?  I am all for that.  But that's an entirely different and much better way to conceptualize this.
