The money absolutely had to come from someone motivated by something other than a financial return and that has the deepest of deep pockets. Hard to see this as someone other than a nation state or quasi-government investment arm. The money comes from a person but from a COUNTRY that is motivated from other than a financial return. The return would be establishing an intelligence and eavesdropping operation in the middle of NW Washington disguised as a private school. I have no doubt that this operation is being backed financially by the leadership of the Peoples Republic of China. The so called delay in getting the permits for the building renovations gave them enough time to create the infrastructure for their electronic equipment. You will soon see so called exchange students who are really trained operatives infiltrating Washington DC households. Our laws should be changed to screen out operations like this from even opening up.
 Given the quality of selective education in China, I'm happy to turn over my kids to our future overlords. Seriously, have y'all not noticed that the Chinese embassy is NEXT TO the school building? From the embassy residence in Kalorama, it's a 10 minute drive or 2 stops on the Red Line. Gee...if I wanted make money off of wealthy and well-connected Chinese people and those with business interests with China, where would I locate a boarding school for the kids of those people who probably wouldn't have a chance in hell to get into Sidwell unless their English is already phenomenal? Can't believe folks actually think the Yellow Peril would infiltrate it's own diplomatic compound. The school will be a perk for the "operatives" and Belt-And-Road bandwagon. Has it not occurred to you that maybe the US would benefit more from planting kindergarten spies from wealthy and well-connected non-Chinese Americans in spitting distance from the Chinese Ambassador's office? Please tell me PP works for The Onion. smh
