I think you're missing the bigger picture.  She is so heavy BECAUSE she is emotionally stunted and can't deal with even the little things in life and is angry about it and hating life because of it.  As a result, she turns to food to escape or to hide or to try and not deal with life.  I love the way they are portraying her because they are showing how real (and emotional) her eating disorder is - it's not about eating just to eat.  It's about eating because you can't handle life, and are angry about it. [/quote]
