But what about all that stuff about her strict diet? If the weight loss was a concern related to her cancer treatment, she would have been working with a nutritionist to increase calories, not talking about strategies to trick yourself to feel full. BS
I wish some of you could really hear yourselves. A lot of these comments are so cruel they lack any human decency.
My mother lost so much weight during her cancer treatments. I'm glad there was no internet back then.
Long b/f her infertility/cancer issues, Rancic posted herself on a website that basically outlined an eating plan that reflects what people do when they have an eating disorder. Public pressure made her take it down but you can still find the screen shots of it online and probably on this thread. She still has an unacknowledged eating disorder. You can read the summary of her diet choices here: http://drgullo.com/diet-resources/celebrity-diet/high-protein-diet/giuliana-rancics-weighty-scrutiny/
Does it matter what she said previously? This is her life now as a cancer survivor. Are we all to be held accountable for every belief and practice we had in our past? People change, our views change, our health changes.
Yes, it does matter. What she said is indicative of someone who has had major issues with food beyond what is typical of someone who is just watching their figure. She said those things and her appearance reflects what you'd expect of someone who eats that way/does those things. Her cancer was several years back and blaming it on the cancer basically shuts down any criticism or concerns over the image she's putting out there as a public persona who is making money off being in the public eye. She's the one who has a reality TV show, nobody forced her to put her personal life under the microscope. I've been recovered from an ED for many years now and I know what a sad way to live it is and how many excuses you come up with to normalize and protect it. I wish her the best, but I still won't be surprised if she fesses up to an ED in the future.
I agree. I think she realizes that you can garner sympathy for things that happen "to you" like breast cancer or infertility. You necessarily have control over these things. She doesn't want to acknowledge or give up the addiction to food and exercise which are the things she controls. Her reality shows are for her to control her narrative and it's dishonest.
