I wish some of you could really hear yourselves. A lot of these comments are so cruel they lack any human decency.
My mother lost so much weight during her cancer treatments. I'm glad there was no internet back then.
Long b/f her infertility/cancer issues, Rancic posted herself on a website that basically outlined an eating plan that reflects what people do when they have an eating disorder. Public pressure made her take it down but you can still find the screen shots of it online and probably on this thread.
She still has an unacknowledged eating disorder. You can read the summary of her diet choices here:

Does it matter what she said previously? This is her life now as a cancer survivor. Are we all to be held accountable for every belief and practice we had in our past? People change, our views change, our health changes.
Yes, it does matter. What she said is indicative of someone who has had major issues with food beyond what is typical of someone who is just watching their figure. She said those things and her appearance reflects what you'd expect of someone who eats that way/does those things. Her cancer was several years back and blaming it on the cancer basically shuts down any criticism or concerns over the image she's putting out there as a public persona who is making money off being in the public eye. She's the one who has a reality TV show, nobody forced her to put her personal life under the microscope.
I've been recovered from an ED for many years now and I know what a sad way to live it is and how many excuses you come up with to normalize and protect it. I wish her the best, but I still won't be surprised if she fesses up to an ED in the future.

And she is eating throughout the day. If she was just drinking hot tea with some spices thrown in and calling that a "meal" that would be one thing. But she is eating food.
She is apparently still taking the meds to prevent cancer recurrence so I also don't see why it's so hard to believe that the meds are affecting her body now.
Its hard to believe because even during her chemo treatments she was not this thin! she has progressively lost weight after recovering from cancer. Its backwards.
But she is still taking meds to prevent recurrence and I would imagine that some of the damage caused by chemo might take a little while to manifest..
The woman has been through a hell of a lot and I just thing it's wrong for people to say that she is using cancer as an "excuse" for the changes in her body.
Again, she went through CHEMO I would expect her to look like skeletor during that but she did not. She now looks worse and has recovered for 2 years or so. She should not look as unhealthy as she does period. She is using it as an excuse.

http://www.breastcancer.org/tips/menopausal/ask_expert/2002_03/question_14:
If you received chemotherapy, then the weight gain could be blamed on the chemo. It is well known that, following the diagnosis of breast cancer, weight gain is relatively common. It is more common in women receiving chemotherapy than in women who do not receive chemotherapy. The question about tamoxifen causing weight gain, in my mind, has been well answered. There are thousands of women who have been randomized to receive either tamoxifen or a placebo in double-blind studies. Not one of those studies, to my knowledge, has demonstrated that the women receiving tamoxifen have more trouble with weight gain or weight loss than those women who receive placebo. The same thing could be said about nausea and vomiting. Some women complain that tamoxifen causes nausea and vomiting. There's no suggestion that it does so more than a placebo.
Jennifer Griggs, M.D., M.P.H. Weight gain after breast cancer treatment is one of the most upsetting side effects in women who experience this side effect. It can be hard for women to hear that it's not the tamoxifen. I think they sometimes feel that their doctors don't believe they're gaining weight.
http://www.webmd.com/breast-cancer/breast-cancer-and-weight-changes
Women with breast cancer often complain of weight gain as an undesirable side effect of their treatment. Premenopausal women who receive chemotherapy are at higher risk for weight changes after completing therapy.
Many women who have chemotherapy for breast cancer have reported an average weight gain of about 5 to 8 pounds over a year. Some have reported gaining less, while others have gained as much as 25 pounds.
