My swimmer is a teen at another site. The experience they have had has been very positive, and they have been with the club since they were 9. The rumors about Bruce’s training methods have made their way to other sites, my swimmer has said before that they are so glad they are not at GP because they are not a distance freestyler and would have worried they would end up injured. They know of the 2 swimmers that were unable to compete this year due to injury, and right or wrong, the perception is that is due to overtraining. My swimmer has also made reference to people being body shamed in that group. The Gold 1 group at GP is not for everyone and it’s ok to come to the conclusion that you would be better served elsewhere, as a swimmer and as a person. [/quote]
