I finally got a chance to watch the Arlington girls 2011 team play today. Unfortunately, the NVA 2011s didn’t make much of a game of it. Arlington looked strong, well organized, and coached well. They dominated the game in all facets. NVAs back line looked like they had never played together before nor did they look like any of them had ever played defense in their lives before this game. Everyone one of them, especially on the weak side, was ball watching. The center mids and back line gave Arlington way too much space on the ball. The coaches for NVA, if you want to call them that, never made any adjustments and it didn’t look like they did any coaching at all the entire game in my opinion. From what I was overhearing in the stands it sounds like that’s kind of status quo for this team. If I was a parent of an NVA daughter on this team, I’d probably be looking elsewhere. And I don’t say that bc they lost to a clearly dominate team, I say that bc the coaching was nonexistent and nothing seemed to change…
Did you happen to watch the 2012's game, and see how those same coaches that you reference lead the NVA team to a dominate win... It's almost like the 2011 Arlington team is ranked top 5 in the country and hard beat if you're not at least top 10 in the country yourself
So same coaches on NVA but different results. Could be just better pool for 2012? Or Arlington 2012 just isn’t as good as the hype?
All of the above... NVA 2012 is an excellent pool of players, 2012 Arlington isn't as good as their parents say they are, and 2011 Arlington is a top 5 team in the country.
so 2012 NVA team as several 2013s on that team hand selected. Several of those girls were on MHs copas team which won last year.
