LOL! Hello fellow boomers. "based" is slang with widespread use among Gen Z. It is all over reddit, including in left wing subreddits. It has nothing to do with rightwing beliefs. NOI is NOT mainstream in America. They literally have 50,000 adherents or less in the U.S. today. They peaked at 250,000 followers in the 1970s and have been declining ever since.
