why was it ever posted. Only those who participated in tryouts should be notified of the results. Why should the results be posted to strangers where your child's first initial and last name is revealed. No other club posts this publicly, I believe.[/quote]

Avoids the game playing that you see at other clubs with staggered offers, revised offers, etc.

Agreed. It beats the incessant chatter around the campfire about who made what team before tryouts have even finished. I have seen parents asking other kids whether they made a specific team, which is completely out of bounds. I have told my son not to talk about his offer or anybody else’s before the process is complete. I think they should all post and nobody should talk about offers and acceptances until posts go up.  The info will get out anyway, but will do so with less gossip among parents and stress among kids. The only downside of this system would be having to accept before knowing whether particular kids had remained on or made the team. [/quote]
