I just don't think that's true.  Would imagine most want the best team possible.  Always makes sense to have contingency plans as this would make a very competitive tryout even more so, but I don't think there is a bunch of hand-wringing going on.  Hope 1/3 guy has been right.

It's meaningless to make a team without competition.  Capital Blue maintains their brand by being competitive nationally and needs the best available players to do that.  Better mindset is to hope that good players try out AND that your DD makes it.  Not sure you have to be "absolutely convinced" to stay in that head space.[/quote]

The Capital coaches are suspect sometimes too. They get a lot right, but they miss on some kids that should be blue every year and their evaluation ability is mixed. It’s not perfect. [/quote]
