I just don't think that's true. Would imagine most want the best team possible. Always makes sense to have contingency plans as this would make a very competitive tryout even more so, but I don't think there is a bunch of hand-wringing going on. Hope 1/3 guy has been right.
“Most” want their kid on Blue. Towards that end, more competition is not a good thing unless you are absolutely convinced that your own daughter is making Blue.
The number of people absolutely convinced their daughter will make Blue has to be very small. Everyone I talk to seems unsure of the situation, even the parents of kids I am absolutely convinced about.
+1. I don't know of any parents who feel totally confident about their kid making blue

Anonymous wrote:Ultimately 2028 Blue will be what it will be - a mid-top 10/15 team with mediocre coaches that will keep them in the range that they belong but not push the top tier. It will be fine to get them all recruited, but it is not the ultra-talented 2025 class. It is what it is DC parents. Just accept it and enjoy the ride.

It's meaningless to make a team without competition. Capital Blue maintains their brand by being competitive nationally and needs the best available players to do that. Better mindset is to hope that good players try out AND that your DD makes it. Not sure you have to be "absolutely convinced" to stay in that head space.
There will be 2-3 that you are “absolutely convinced” will make it and they won’t. Happens every year. Everyone will be scratching their heads including the family.
The Capital coaches are suspect sometimes too. They get a lot right, but they miss on some kids that should be blue every year and their evaluation ability is mixed. It’s not perfect.
Absolutely. Which leads to accusations of “politics” but sometimes they just get it wrong.
Aren’t politics and incompetence the same thing anyway?
Nailed it, but don’t tell that to 1/3 guy and the minions
Time to leave Seacrets
Why are we maligning the good folks at Seacrets? Did I miss something?
I believe it is the NOVA way of referring to MD parents as white trash if I had to hazard a guess.
