Iran becomes a major regional power.
What the U.S. really controls is:
maritime security
deterrence against disruptions
crisis response capacity
That influence is enormous.

Certainly, right now, we have done damage for nothing. Apart from preventing some oil access to China for a while, which is huge in geopolitical games.

I am not disagreeing that the U.S. actions have caused mayhem, bcs right now our government is incompetent, and you can't fire all your five-star generals and not think things through before you act.

Leaving GCC completely would be insane for the U.S. as a superpower. I, personally, prefer to be a citizen of a superpower, rather than of some small country that has no influence anywhere.

The US is only in the region to protect Israel. When the US leaves the region will be more stable because the US will no longer be imposing idiotic things like the Abraham accords and its constant attacks/oppression of Iran. The US has suppressed Iran for 50 years while propping up Israel and the gulf kingdoms. That is all over now.

The truth is the US has restricted the free market flow of oil in the region for years while wasting billions on defense spending. The US leaving will be great for the region and oil production. [/quote]
