The US Senate on Tuesday approved a war powers resolution preventing Donald Trump from continuing the conflict with Iran, delivering the president a significant but symbolic rebuke over a conflict that has proven unpopular with the US public. The resolution passed by a 50-48 vote, with four Republicans – Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and Rand Paul of Kentucky – breaking with their party to vote in favor. John Fetterman, of Pennsylvania, was the sole Democrat to vote against it. Fetterman is insufferable
So. Practically speaking what effect does this have? No more funding for anything connected to Trump’s debacle??
I wouldn't go that far. We have to give Iran money for our surrender
The money is not Congress's to appropriate. The money is Iran's money that we've been holding for decades.
The $300B is money Trump will "arrange" as a reparation fund ON TOP of Iran's frozen assets. It's in the MOU. If Trump doesn't pony up he's violated the agreement and then back to closing down the SOH.
Rubio is currently in the ME begging companies to invest in Iran to get that $300 b.
Pointing out how weird this is - The GCC were bombed by Iran and now the GCC are being asked to put money in to help rebuild Iran. Iran basically bullied them for their lunch money. GCC will not do so without assurances (i.e. money in one form or another) from the US. China and other countries may throw a lifeline but what will they want in return?
