He is Lebanese and hence "expert" in Trump's world. His family is vastly rich. That is all that matters now.

Yes it happened a month ago.

Why can’t we just “walk away”?

Iran wants reparations.

I get that, but would the US have to pay if we just leave and drop it? They could close the Strait but they can do that even if we do pay.

Yes. We have to pay. We attacked them unprovoked, committed heinous war crimes, and now we must pay.

I agree with the part in bold, but don’t quite see why the US would pay have to pay reparations if we just left. Ethically, we probably should, but that’s not my question.

Because Iran then would close the SOH leading to pandemonium. That economic and political pain would be much worse than working out an agreement. Leading up to the MOU Trump was desperate for a deal and was too weak to push back to Iran's demands that included reparations.

The resolution passed by a 50-48 vote, with four Republicans – Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana and Rand Paul of Kentucky – breaking with their party to vote in favor. John Fetterman, of Pennsylvania, was the sole Democrat to vote against it.

Fetterman is insufferable

So. Practically speaking what effect does this have? No more funding for anything connected to Trump’s debacle??

I wouldn't go that far. We have to give Iran money for our surrender

The money is not Congress's to appropriate. The money is Iran's money that we've been holding for decades.

The $300B is money Trump will "arrange" as a reparation fund ON TOP of Iran's frozen assets. It's in the MOU. If Trump doesn't pony up he's violated the agreement and then back to closing down the SOH.

Rubio is currently in the ME begging companies to invest in Iran to get that $300 b.

Pointing out how weird this is - The GCC were bombed by Iran and now the GCC are being asked to put money in to help rebuild Iran. Iran basically bullied them for their lunch money.

GCC will not do so without assurances (i.e. money in one form or another) from the US.

China and other countries may throw a lifeline but what will they want in return?

Its amazing that someone like me, who grew up with the 1979 Hostage Crisis and the follow on decades of terrorism, believes the iranian governments claims more than the US.

Of course they are going to spend the money however they see fit - there’s no binding agreement that they must buy any one thing. They can buy enriched uranium if they please.

Really? Probably because you're not educated enough and too naive to realize that the US and Israel are some of the biggest perpetrators, supporters and enablers of terrorism in the past century.

I think that you are in a agreement with each other. I also agree with you both.

We all believe Iran more than the White House disinformation.

This kind of questions are irrelevant now.

I think it is possible Israel will not celebrate its 100th anniversary. Netanyahu is completely isolating and destroying the country not Iran
