I don’t believe she navigated it well at all. What an utter disappointment
What did you want her to say that she didn't say?
‘And let me be clear, I will always stand up for Israel's right to defend itself and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself," she said "What has happened in Gaza over the past 10 months is devastating. So many innocent lives lost, desperate hungry people fleeing for safety over and over again. The scale of suffering is heartbreaking," That’s what she said. Reading this you’d think the Palestinians were victims of some sort of natural disaster that just happened on them. The language used here about Israel and Palestine is very different. She is playing with words, she doesn't say the same words about Palastinian such as right to self defense, independent government and sovereignty of their lands. Also talking about being devastated by whats happening in Gaza and in the same breath talk about how you will be ensure the entity that is inflicting this to defend itself and provide arms is the gaslight i was missing in my playbook. She vowed to protect Israel. I wanted to shout at her: protect against WHO? Babies, children, women, medical workers, volunteers, teachers, journalists, geriatrics??? She speaks of the Palestinians as if they are they're victims of a natural disaster (their suffering is "heartbreaking"), rather than victims of an ongoing US-backed sl@ughter. She does so while promising unrelenting military backing for the government killing them. Not a peep about an arms embargo, not a whisper about upholding international law
+100 Why do we as a nation have to protect and save Israel?
because it is a historic moral obligation rooted in WW2
Their defense systems and borders are stronger than ours. We don’t have safe rooms and bomb shelters from mass shootings or bombings. We are more in danger than they are I find it difficult to believe Israel shot down hundreds of Iranian missiles with their Iron Dome but couldn’t stop men in parachutes and on motorbikes over a course of 2 days. Why would the IDF be told to stand down and just watch as kibbutzim gets raided and attacked? It makes no sense. Egypt told Israel weeks prior Hamas was planning an attack and the kibbutz residents said they told authorities they saw fire balloons with warning messages in Arabic and Hebrew that implied Hamas was coming. There’s no way Israeli intelligence didn’t know something was going to happen from Gaza
