"What has happened in Gaza over the past 10 months is devastating. So many innocent lives lost, desperate hungry people fleeing for safety over and over again. The scale of suffering is heartbreaking,"

That’s what she said. Reading this you’d think the Palestinians were victims of some sort of natural disaster that just happened on them. The language used here about Israel and Palestine is very different. She is playing with words, she doesn't say the same words about Palastinian such as right to self defense, independent government and sovereignty of their lands. Also talking about being devastated by whats happening in Gaza and in the same breath talk about how you will be ensure the entity that is inflicting this to defend itself and provide arms is the gaslight i was missing in my playbook. She vowed to protect Israel. I wanted to shout at her: protect against WHO? Babies, children, women, medical workers, volunteers, teachers, journalists, geriatrics??? She speaks of the Palestinians as if they are they're victims of a natural disaster (their suffering is "heartbreaking"), rather than victims of an ongoing US-backed sl@ughter. She does so while promising unrelenting military backing for the government killing them. Not a peep about an arms embargo, not a whisper about upholding international law

+100 Why do we as a nation have to protect and save Israel?

because it is a historic moral obligation rooted in WW2

Their defense systems and borders are stronger than ours. We don’t have safe rooms and bomb shelters from mass shootings or bombings.

We are more in danger than they are

I find it difficult to believe Israel shot down hundreds of Iranian missiles with their Iron Dome but couldn’t stop men in parachutes and on motorbikes over a course of 2 days. Why would the IDF be told to stand down and just watch as kibbutzim gets raided and attacked? It makes no sense.

Egypt told Israel weeks prior Hamas was planning an attack and the kibbutz residents said they told authorities they saw fire balloons with warning messages in Arabic and Hebrew that implied Hamas was coming. There’s no way Israeli intelligence didn’t know something was going to happen from Gaza

And how do you propose she say that with such nuance in the context of last night's speech? I would contend that she said enough to placate the people who continue to protest, and it is certainly more than the GOP would provide.

You really don’t think she couldn’t have found a way to say this if she wanted to? When she has the top speechwriters in the country working for her? Are you serious? Did we need to hear Israel have the right to defend itself one more time? We dont even talk about America having the right to defend itself- is Israel the only country in the world that has the right to defend itself? You don’t think she could’ve said , i used to be a prosecutor and i stand for international law and that means I will stand for the right of the Israeli n Palestinian citizens to live in peace, sovereignty? Did the speech really have to be about Israel defending itself and us providing arms?

I think the reason they’re losing this one is because Hamas has inside intel in the IDF. That’s got to be the only way.. A released hostage said Hamas had stolen the IDF uninforms of dead or captive soldiers and stolen their ID’s.

Back in 2021-2022, Hamas were caught making fake profiles of Israeli women on dating profiles and talking to the soldiers. Because Hamas knows Hebrew, they were able to fool these young IDF soldiers to give them sensitive military info. Not long after the honeypot catfishing, hundreds of military stockpiles and depots were robbed in Southern Israel and the IDF didn’t know how these depots supplies went missing and were burglarized.

The IdF is the same military that was on TikTok streaming bombings and laughing from Gaza.

I would not be surprised if Hamas is using the hostages to communicate to IDF on social media as if they are in Israel and getting info.

The idea that Israel is some weak shrinking Violet and the David against regional Goliaths is propoganda.
Actually, they’re the bully and the Goliath.

The US has lost every major war since WW2 (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan). We need their help more than they need ours but they never helped us in Iraq even though they pushed for that war and gave us the “intelligence” that Saddam was trying to purchase yellowcake uranium (something Israel actually did secretly)

Israel didn’t lose any major wars since WW2. They actually beat down their enemy countries in a matter of several days even when they tag teamed together to fight Israel.

This is the first war they are losing when it comes to pushing out or finding the enemy or their hostages.

I know the propaganda is digusting. But innocent Palestinians should not have to pay for that. I know the antisemitism is high - including on the American Left, I'm sad to say - but this war isn't helping. This war is wrong. This war has gone on too long. This war must end.

I'm not a Jew but it seems to me ..

This could be over tomorrow if Hamas unconditionally surrendered and returned the hostages.

The Israelis are not the ones standing in the way of a 2 state solution. "From the river to the sea" seems to indicate a rejection of a two state solution. The camp David accords were not rejected by Israel.

War is hell, but until the hostages are returned, I would not expect any country to stop.

Hamas offered all the hostages back in October and November and Israel refused.

If you think Israel cares about the hostages, you’re really mistaken. How did all those hostages get taken in the first place? The IDF was told to stand down and watch as tons of cars and motorbikes left the kibbutz to Gaza.

They watched and did nothing per orders.

To be fair, Israeli's care about the hostages. The problem is Netanayu, who has prolonged this war to keep himself out of jail. The war ends when Trump is no longer on the horizon as president to give BiBi cover.

I’m not sure. Israel has won all its wars post WW2. We have not.

They did fine in 1948 against five countries with very minimal US support.

The idea that their existence is under threat is propoganda. They have closed borders, they have an Iron Dome. They have settlers having 8 babies a piece outpopulating Palestinians

They’re doing just fine.

Their existence isn’t under any threat

The eradication of Palestinians seems to be the only thing that sways the Israeli vote. Look at your post. You take an extremists position. I imagine you are attacking the hostage families as leftists and Hamas also. It is long past time to move on from Israel and their refusal to recognize the Palestinians. Much more important issue in the world vs Israel.
