People were coming and going and the police were completely inept at collecting evidence, let alone keeping the crime scene secure. Intruder could have walked right out the front door with all the people milling about. No one would have noticed...especially if it was someone the family knew.[/quote]

An intruder is not going to bash someone's skull in and wait 2 hours to strangle them.  An intruder is not going to leave a body in the basement where it could be easily found AND spend time writing and rewriting a ransom note.....that just so happened to look just like Patsy's left handed writing sample.

I know that the truth can be stranger than fiction but there is just way too much here.  Every angle I look at points right back at the mother.  I don't know why she did it, I think that she was sorry that she did it but I also think that there is every reason to think that she did it.
