Totally agree. I didn't understand at all why Tom and other family members were so insistent that Mary really did love what's-his-name. She's rejected much more interesting men before!

And when the Dowager told her to make things right with Edith, I don't think she meant that Mary should go ahead and make her perfect life while Edith continues to suffer.

I would have so much more respect for Mary if, instead of planning her own wedding right then and there, she had told Henry (?) that it would have to wait until she had found Edith's guy (name?) and actually made it right with them.  That is, done everything in her power to get him to come back to Edith.  THEN she could have her own stupid wedding.

I loved everything Edith said to Mary before she left, and then after she returned for Mary's wedding.  I was actually very surprised to see her come back for it.  Just shows she's a much bigger person than Mary.[/quote]
