Lately there's been a lot of crime in Montgomery County. Car jacking, stolen cars, assaults, sexual assaults and robberies. Who would want to live here. You have to carry a gun just to go to the store. Someone mention no corporations want to be headquartered here its because of the high crime. Discovery packed up and left because of the downtown Silver Spring crime. Marriott is thinking of leaving. You can't even go for a walk in a strip center, window shopping without someone coming up and asking for money. I thought they only did that in DC.
MoCo is very safe. In contrast, NoVA is a total cesspool. Here are some recent examples: https://www.arlnow.com/2026/03/23/boy-robbed-of-shoes-backpack-by-gun-wielding-teens/ https://www.arlnow.com/2026/03/26/arrest-made-after-person-stabbed-in-ballston-group-home/ https://www.arlnow.com/2026/03/26/acpd-raids-six-vape-stores-as-part-of-regional-drug-trafficking-investigation/ https://www.reddit.com/r/nova/comments/1s5e5ni/fairfax_county_police_officers_are_in_the_11000/ Amazon totally reneged on all of its promises to Arlington. The helix building is never going to be built, and it's laying people off in droves. And Boeing just moved its HQ from Arlington to St. Louis. To compensate, NoVA has decided on a strategy of building data centers everywhere. As for homeless, wowza they're everywhere in Nova: https://www.reddit.com/r/arlingtonva/comments/1g9xyiz/homeless_man_screeching_for_hours_in_courthouse/ https://www.reddit.com/r/nova/comments/1nsr8cb/rise_in_homeless_in_rosslynclarendon/ https://www.reddit.com/r/arlingtonva/comments/1dlzg81/homeless_in_ballston/ NoVa is in deep decline, and so its residents want to detract from that decline by focusing on MoCo. I know lots of people who are in the process of moving from the sinking ship that is Nova.
Didn't you just start a thread with all these links hating on Arlington? Do you live there? If not, why do you care?
