Which clubs are allowing players to play up after the age change? Is VDA allowing play up?
It seems very rare that they would allow this, just like today.
This may be helpful: "Q9: Can my child still "play up" with an older age group/team? A: Yes, the option to "play up" based on skill level and developmental readiness will still be available, as determined by the club and coaches. However, we want to be clear that this will not be based on request but through the recommendations made by our coaches and technical staff directly to the player and family. ● Important Note: The decision to play up will be a technical staff decision based on a player's skill, maturity, and long-term development—not solely based on wanting to play with friends who are in a higher grade." https://irp.cdn-website.com/f3811953/files/uploaded/FAQ+for+VSA_PWSI_VDA+Travel+Parents_+Youth+Soccer+Age+Group+Changes+%28Starting+2026-2027%29+-+FINAL.pdf
Right, I didn’t say it was impossible, just very rare. Very few kids play up on vda today, so no different except it’s harder because level of play is increasing per age group.
