Apparently the Wife gets a nice lifestyle and a lot of $$$, downside is skill (being wife) is not super transferrable;
Nanny gets an OK life, lot less $, and with a good sellable skill that carries until age 65, arguably the more experience she has the better, and can eat whatever she wants, plus a nice husband who loves her;
hmmm I get OK life, medium $ because I work my @$$ off, a sellable skill before 55 (then aging out of corporate america), still have to starve my @$$ to remain thin, a husband neither loves me as much as nanny's husband, and has little $ to offer to me.

Why the assumption that wife is unemployed with no skills? Many "rich" households are dual income these days and both spouses are highly educated. There are some weird retrograde assumptions made in here that seem totally out of touch with reality. Even the whole "skinny" question which seems to be about 1970s housewives who drank and smoke all day to stay skinny, and took mommy's little helpers to deal with it all That doesn't describe many women today.[/quote]

That's my interpretation of Nanny post that particular wife is not employed but just starve herself to stay married.
I don't know what the real situation is, perhaps she is a wfh data scientist for hottest fintech, who drinks enough koolaid that she doesnt need 3 meals. [/quote]

Ok but these posts are all over the place because the other thread on this topic along the lines of "why don't law firm partners have hot/skinny wives" doesn't seem to jive with all these assumptions. Maybe the nanny was working for the 2nd or 3rd wife.[/quote]
