I’m a nanny in Beverly Hills and pretty much all the moms are skinny with fake boobs, fillers, and no job or life skills. I might just be a nanny, but at least I can support myself and don’t need a butt implant to do so. Seeing how these women have to live their lives is very sad. My boss doesn’t eat breakfast or lunch, only dinner, and has bad breath all day long from lack of food. Her computer history is on the kids iPads and sometimes I have to go in there to find old art projects the kids want to do, and I saw on Valentine’s Day she was googling vibrators. What a way to live. I’d rather be fat and have a man who loves me for who I am.
I'm sad for people who think there's something wrong with vibrators.
Nothing wrong with a vibrator but googling one at 9pm while your husband is at ‘work’ is kind of sad, but that’s the life you choose when you marry for money
My DH doesn't make a lot of money and still regularly work past 9pm. I think it's a personal actualization thing to have high sense of ownership in his chosen field (think Japanese work culture). While it's certainly not too ideal, but it's not the worst trait to have.
NP but I think the point from nanny's post is that these women in general have their life revolve around staying skinny and attractive, including getting surgeries and skipping meals, for a husband who is too busy to be at home by 9pm on Valentine's day (either because of too much work or other reasons). It's the whole context and I agree with the nanny. It's better to be financially independent and be with a man who will be somewhat considerate of you than be with a rich man who is too busy for you and has expectations that you are always striving to attain/keep. Obviously this is a choice. If the woman goes in to this knowing what she is going to get, good for her as long as her emotions don't get in the way.

You do you. Just make sure you are covered when you get a divorce.

Apparently the Wife gets a nice lifestyle and a lot of $$$, downside is skill (being wife) is not super transferrable;
Nanny gets an OK life, lot less $, and with a good sellable skill that carries until age 65, arguably the more experience she has the better, and can eat whatever she wants, plus a nice husband who loves her;
hmmm I get OK life, medium $ because I work my @$$ off, a sellable skill before 55 (then aging out of corporate america), still have to starve my @$$ to remain thin, a husband neither loves me as much as nanny's husband, and has little $ to offer to me.
Looks like I got the worst deal!
Why the assumption that wife is unemployed with no skills? Many "rich" households are dual income these days and both spouses are highly educated. There are some weird retrograde assumptions made in here that seem totally out of touch with reality. Even the whole "skinny" question which seems to be about 1970s housewives who drank and smoke all day to stay skinny, and took mommy's little helpers to deal with it all That doesn't describe many women today.
That's my interpretation of Nanny post that particular wife is not employed but just starve herself to stay married.
I don't know what the real situation is, perhaps she is a wfh data scientist for hottest fintech, who drinks enough koolaid that she doesnt need 3 meals.
Ok but these posts are all over the place because the other thread on this topic along the lines of "why don't law firm partners have hot/skinny wives" doesn't seem to jive with all these assumptions. Maybe the nanny was working for the 2nd or 3rd wife.

Anonymous wrote:Wealthy white men prefer skinny/fit women for sure, but maybe because they are also white in most cases. Not many white women are “thicc.” It just isn’t a common shape to have and you can’t gain it, you have to be born with it or injected with it. White women are usually thin or overweight all over

I would say there are very few overweight women, but NWDC, Bethesda, Arlington, McLean, etc. doesn't have a lot of overweight people in general.
Agree. I also lived in Los Angeles, and granted it was west hollywood, not beverly hills, but still very wealthy. I was around a lot of instagram models and youtubers, and most of them were what I'd describe as "curvy" or "slim thick" but not skinny. Rarely did I see a truly skinny woman. Most of the time, they seemed like they wanted a good sized bum and hips compared to the waist. Granted, many of these were youtubers who made their own money or instagram models, so not necessarily married to rich men. But it didnt seem like they were lacking for male attention from wealthy men, that's for sure.
The skinny anorexic ones are in bel air, the palisades, Brentwood and the Beverly Hills flats (with the old money). Beverly Hills (non flats areas) and West Hollywood is for the curvy girls and Instagram models.
