Because the GOP can turn around and say that the manuscript is full of lies or that the Democrats are "misinterpreting" the words in the text. A lot harder to do that with a real person testifying. It begs the question of why, if the GOP supports getting the manuscript, they don't support subpoenaing Bolton? Or at least requesting that he testify?[/quote]
