CANADA HAS NO ABORTION RESTRICTIONS, AND FEWER ABORTIONS THAN THE US. I'm just gonna keep on posting this on every single abortion thread. Also, every single damn person whinging about "post-birth abortion" (which does not exist) is MORALLY OBLIGATED to advocate for universal access to long-term birth control. If you are not, STFU. Seriously, STFU.
You're really all about the nanny state. The concept of people being responsible for themselves simply escapes you.
DP.. the concept of letting a woman choose what to do with her own body escapes you. Talk about nanny state. I'm going to keep posting this -- MANDATORY VASECTOMIES FOR MEN. Almost every baby will be wanted. Reduces teen pregnancies. If you think it's ok to make a woman carry a baby for whatever reason, then it should be ok to make a man not be able to make a baby at will. I'm sure you would agree, that an abortion is worse than a vasectomy.
Exactly. If you are against the "nanny state," then let doctors and patients decide on medical care.
Who decides for the child?
THE MOTHER. The human who has to carry the thing inside her for 40 weeks.
Are you really this ignorant of all the people who were born prematurely (way before 40 weeks)? I bet some of your own friends were born prematurely. Lucky for you, their mothers allowed them to live! Thank about it, my friend.
We are all wondering about your mother...did she make the right choice? Just not sure...
Uncalled for PP. But to the previous poster, you're comparing viable pregnancies that result in living children to what the reality is for late term abortions - these are not viable pregnancies or will kill the mother. That's not an apples to apples comparison and is unfair. I don't have a cite, but every accounting I've read, late term abortions are done with heavy hearts after intentionally getting pregnant and excited to welcome this person into their lives. It just isn't meant to be, and the late term abortion is a kind, compassionate, humane treatment for all concerned. And yes, I include the fetus in that. Why should their only role in life be to be born and then die, sometimes painfully? Because THAT's late term abortion. "Incompatible with life" isn't just talk. It's the reality, and these parents are by all account devastating.
