While I understand the "money grab" crowd's point that 2028s are not yet in the recruiting window and aren't a focus of college coaches, I would not say that events like ID Experience, APEX, Players Series, or Best in Class are a waste or time or money.  First, these events generally offer some good instruction from real coaches, as well as competitive games with and against other top players, with a different dynamic than club team games.  There is intrinsic value in both for lacrosse development.  Second, some of these events do have significant recruiting relevance for rising 10th and 11th graders.  Attending and having a successful showing as a rising 9th grader may put a player in a good position for making the roster for these application/recommendation-only events in later years.  That doesn't mean they get a real look from D1 coaches this year, by any means, but it's not nothing.  In my view, it's not essential, but maybe a nice-to-have.

Not envious of those going to Frederica's turf in the middle of a heatwave, though, but hope it's a good experience for their DD.[/quote]
