Why do you assume the default is they would go to GA? There are two NWSL teams with academies (not fully funded) today - NC Courage and Portland Thorns - and they both play in ECNL.[/quote] This is an easy one, GA. Now that GA is self-sanctioning, they are an easier body to partner with than a league that is sanctioned two levels below NWSLs relation to the federations. With GA, NWSL only has one partner. With ECNL, NWSL would have to have two, and every decision would need to be approved at two levels. In retrospect it seems like GA maybe has a plan? And I say this as an ECNL parent…[/quote]
