If it doesn't enhance performance, why is it banned? I will be super angry is this is the work of an incompetent doctor who doesn't read the rule and gave her like an antihystamine or something. Remember Elena Berezhnaya, who was dq'd over an OTC cold medication she stupidly took to stop her runny nose. Aaarghhhh!
One of the rumors floating around is that it is marijuana. Just a rumor. It seems like it was from a test before the Olympics. All the medalists at the European Championships (3.5 weeks ago in Estonia) got tested and presumably were clear because the skaters the ROC had in each if the 4 disciplines in the team event won gold at Euros and that hasn’t been stripped and no mention before now. Jessica Calalang, the US silver medalist in pairs kept testing positive for banned substance for months. Turned out it was something in a mascara or lash growth serum. So maybe it’s something more like that? If it is Kamila and it is something more serious that could have major ramifications for the women’s event since her coach, Eteri Tutberidze, coaches the other 2 Russian girls expected to sweep the podium.
