This. I saw teen Olympians. They are at Princeton, Stanford. Right. Rich people who have time to train and money to hire coaches.
And China looks pitiful getting its athletes from elsewhere. I thought they were supposed to be powerful. They are borrowing athletes from Canada and the US. I guess they don’t think the west is evil when they benefit from it.

Sounds like a dreamy recipe for happiness.![]()
You’re being racist, plain and simple. If these stats came from a white UMC girl in jersey, you’d be falling all over yourself with what a great parenting job her family did . But an Asian girl - noooo it’s all tiger mother nightmare.
Have fun in your imaginary world of fake scenarios and baseless accusations.
They are not baseless. All you have to do to discover how white people feel about Asian overachievers is to visit the college or AAP forums. Any Asian achievement is written off as tiger parenting. White achievement, in contrary, is always presented as self driven, and applauded. You're blind if you deny this.
It’s is due to parenting. And it works!
Very very rarely can an internally and intrinsically gifted child do that all alone with 1 or 2 neglectful parents without finding one adult somewhere to push them (coach, church, teacher, counselor who can ID talent and potential).

I will be super angry is this is the work of an incompetent doctor who doesn't read the rule and gave her like an antihystamine or something. Remember Elena Berezhnaya, who was dq'd over an OTC cold medication she stupidly took to stop her runny nose. Aaarghhhh!

The Guardian says it was not performance enhancing.
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/feb/09/legal-issue-delays-beijing-medal-ceremony-for-russian-figure-skating-winter-olympics
The Winter Olympics medal ceremony for the figure skating team event was cancelled because of a Russian skater testing positive for a substance that was not performance enhancing, multiple sources have told the Guardian.
On Wednesday, the International Olympic Committee cancelled the ceremony citing legal obstacles, which had to be settled with the International Skating Union.
The Inside the Games website then suggested it was related to an alleged positive doping result among the Russian skaters, who won gold, something the Guardian has confirmed, along with the additional detail that the substance is not a drug that would aid performance. There is also growing speculation that the continuing legal wrangle is over whether the substance was taken in or out of competition.
It was Kamila Valieva! https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1119043/valieva-legal-problem-beijing-2022

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Greece should always host Summer. With global warming winter is going to become harder to facilitate and they should pick on place and stick with it like the PP stated.
How many of these countries are able to maintain or have a use for all the facilities they build after the games are done? Look at Brazil; the people are living in poverty yet the govt had enough to build these facilities that were never used after the games and now sit to waste away. What's the point?
Totally agree. Greece is summer , Canada is winter and nations all get a chance to be the “host” and highlight their culture. It is not just about the cost to an individual country but the absolute flagrant waste on a planet that is failing.

Are her Olympics over?
She has three (I think) more events.
These were her best events, skies out both times.
Monumental disappointment.
Sorry your life is so sad that you feel the need to say such cruel things about an athlete.
Ok so she messed up. I wouldn't exactly say she sucks. She is still a very accomplished skier with an incredible amount of wins.
She had 2 bad races and is probably inside her own head right now. These bad races still don't erase her other accomplishment.
I am hoping she can come back and do well in her next 3 events, but even is she doesn't she is still an amazing athlete.
