While Maggie Hassan can breathe slightly, she can't breathe too much either. It will be interesting to see what happens. Maybe Ayotte will run again. Local polling in NH not too long ago showed Ayotte slightly behind Hassan but Hassan herself was well under 50% in that matchup, suggesting independent/moderate ire (ie the undecided) will be a major factor in the final outcome.
