I am a teacher who visits several classrooms every day at an elementary school. I am also a conservative. Some of the best students at my school are immigrants - mostly those from Asia but immigrants nonetheless and from countries hated by Trump.
Translation: I school hop between McLean and Madison and see lot's of ambitious, hard working South Koreans who play concert piano and get straight As. Immigrants are not a problem in this area! Wake up.
DP. McLean and Madison are just as much part of FCPS as the Herndon schools.
I am pro-immigration and think we, as Americans should welcome immigrants with open arms to this country. However, to act like there is not a real resource problem in FCPS due to large numbers of immigrants in certain pockets of the county is crazy.
FCPS is now raising teacher salaries and reducing class sizes. If you are pro immigration, then you should be at least as concerned with state policies that redirect taxes paid by NoVa residents to benefit white students in rural counties in Virginia as you are with humanitarian efforts to educate youths fleeing much worse conditions in Central America.
